Used PowerMac G4 400MHz

Today I got my Power Mac G4 400 MHz for $150 (incl.shipping)! It's a nice system from 1999 that has 256 MB RAM, 13.7 GB HDD, CD-ROM, 10/100 Ethernet, USB keyboard & mouse and 3 free PCI-slots.

I've just installed Debian 4.0r3 from "Businesscard-CD" (computer was delivered with MacOS 9.2 onboard). Probably I will do some upgrades as second Ethernet interface, additional memory and new battery for clock. I plan to use it as router and home web-server and may be as node for my "homebrew" distributed computing network...

I was given a PowerMac G4 400MHZ, 10GB HD, 64MB Ram. I did some home remodeling for a lady and she had just bought a new computer. I set up her new computer for her and she asked me if I would like to have the a G4 that she never set up before. She said she bought it almost 8 years ago and it was still new in the box. She told me she paid over $1500.00 for it. I have never owned a Mac before, but I'm gonna set this one up for my daughter. It is a nice looking computer. Very outdated but cool. What kind of upgrades would be recommended to this G4?

To hb2553: I did only 2 upgrades - memory and new battery, but I know some people even put new faster processor in this machine. Check this web-page, it has some info about upgrades:

To Shaos: Thank you very much for the info. I dont know why I never even considered a Mac before. It looks like they are a lot easier to work on the way it opens up. There are updates I can't even get for my PC these days and it is newer than this Mac, such as the newer Graphics PC express cards. My motherboard wont support those on my PC. Thanks again, I will check out that site!
